Privacy Policy
Wolf Magazine collects very little. This page says what, why, for how long and how to exercise your rights.
Who is responsible
Wolf Magazine, the publisher of wolfmagazine.co.uk, is the controller of personal data processed through this website. Questions or requests about personal data can be sent to [email protected].
What the website collects
The website has no accounts, comment forms, newsletter, contact form or search box, and its pages run no analytics and no advertising scripts. The pages themselves set no cookies. The network that delivers the site may set a strictly necessary security cookie.
Like any web server, the servers that deliver the site record each request in a log. A log entry holds the visitor’s IP address, the date and time, the address requested, the response sent, the browser’s user-agent text and the page that referred the visitor. Nothing else is collected.
Why the data is used, and the legal basis
The logs are used to deliver the pages, keep the website secure and find faults. The legal basis is legitimate interests under Article 6(1)(f) of the UK GDPR: a website cannot be run safely without them. The logs are not used to identify individual visitors, to build profiles or to send marketing, and they are not combined with other data.
Who receives the data
The hosting and content-delivery providers that deliver the website handle the logs on behalf of Wolf Magazine, as processors. Some of their servers are outside the United Kingdom. Where personal data is transferred outside the United Kingdom, the transfer is covered by safeguards recognised under UK data protection law. Personal data is not sold.
How long it is kept
Log entries are kept only as long as needed for security and fault-finding, and are then deleted or overwritten in the provider’s routine rotation.
Links to other websites
Pages link to publishers, organisers and licensed gambling operators. A visitor who follows one of those links leaves Wolf Magazine and is subject to the other site’s own cookies and privacy policy. The Casino Guide contains affiliate links, and the notice on those pages says so. Wolf Magazine does not ask for, and does not need, personal details about what a visitor does on an operator’s site.
Browser storage
A short notice about cookies appears on the first visit to a Casino Guide page. Dismissing it stores one entry in the browser’s local storage so that the notice is not shown again. The entry stays on the visitor’s device, is not sent to Wolf Magazine and can be deleted in the browser settings at any time.
Age
The Casino Guide is for readers aged 18 or over. The rest of the website is general reading. The website is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect their data.
Your rights
Under the UK GDPR a person can ask to see the personal data held about them, to have it corrected or deleted, to restrict or object to its use and, where it applies, to receive it in a portable format. Because log entries are not linked to named people, finding one needs the IP address and the approximate time of the visit. Send requests to [email protected].
A person who is unhappy with the way their data has been handled can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint.
